Messnerwirt, albergo storico ad Anterselva (prima documentazione scritta risalente al XV secolo) Nel 1865 Josef Zingerle, detto “Böckn”, compra il podere del Messnerwirt. Il nuovo gestore dimostra ben presto il suo carattere operativo e dinamico: oltre alla sua attività di locandiere e contadino, è notevolmente impegnato anche nel commercio del legname. Nel 1889 gli subentra Franz, il primogenito maschio dei suoi 18 figli. Appassionato viaggiatore, Franz Zingerle prende parte a diversi pellegrinaggi, compreso uno a Gerusalemme; morirà a causa di una malattia contratta durante un viaggio a Roma. Le redini passano quindi in mano al figlio Anton, che insieme alla moglie Walburga si prende cura del podere del Messnerwirt, ristruttura la locanda e fa ricostruire il fienile. Nel 1990 il testimone passa all’attuale generazione: l’odierna struttura del Messnerwirt si deve a Franz e Brigitte, che l’hanno continuamente ampliata e ammodernata. Oggi, insieme ai loro figli Astrid e Ulrich (la quinta generazione), essi si impegnano a portare avanti al meglio lo stretto legame che la tradizione di famiglia vuole tra attività alberghiera e contadina. Il Messnerwirt a Rasun-Anterselva L’origine del nome Messnerwirt di Anterselva è presto spiegata: per chi altri, infatti, sarebbe stato più semplice effettuare il servizio di sacrestano (=Mesner) nella vicina chiesa di Santa Walburga se non per il titolare di quello che è l’odierno Messnerwirt? Oltre a svolgere l’attività in chiesa, il sacrestano era anche la persona addetta al rintocco delle campane per l'avemaria al mattino, a ora di pranzo e alla sera, e le faceva suonare anche in caso di maltempo, se d’estate la formazione in cielo di nubi nere preannunciava forti temporali che minacciavano di distruggere il raccolto. In 1865 Josef Zingerle, "the Böckn son" bought the Messnerwirt property in Antholz / Anterselva. The new landlord proved to be an enterprising man: alongside his work as innkeeper and farmer he also ran an extensive timber business. In 1889 Franz, the eldest son from a total of 18 children, succeeded his father. Franz Zingerle was a widely travelled man, participating in several pilgrimages, taking him as far as Jerusalem. In the end he died of an illness contracted during a trip to Rome, thus his son Anton took over. Together with his wife Walburga he took care of the Messnerwirt property, renovating the guesthouse and newly building the feed house. The current generation of the family has been at work since 1990. Franz and Brigitte have brought the Messnerwirt up to its current state, steadily extending and renovating it. Now, together with their children Astrid and Ulrich (the fifth generation), they are continuing the close connection between guesthouse and farm, in the sense of their family tradition. The Messnerwirt in Rasun-Anterselva The origins of the Messnerwirt's name can easily be traced. Who could be better suited to becoming the sacristan (Mesner) of the nearby church St. Walburg in Antholz / Anterselva than the proprietor of the Messnerwirt? The sacristan, in addition to his ministry in the church, also took care of the ringing of the bell for the Angelus prayer in the morning, at noon and in the evening, and of course never failed to ring the weather warnings when in summer black clouds rose in the sky and thunderstorms threatened to destroy the harvest.
